I’m not sure about describing Zoe Henderson —nor young Jessica Speziale, for that matter— as a “Femme Fatale”, as the organizers of tonight’s show at TO’s Free Times Café are doing.
But I can tell you that I know both of these talented performers and that if the third member of the three-act show (Lillian Mason) is anywhere near as interesting, attendees are in for a three-way treat.
Henderson, who also puts on shows at which local songwriters cover one another’s compositions [see article from Moon page of 121213] is a gifted multi-instrumentalist with a soulful bent to her own tunes.
Speziale could be described as a “femme fatale” because of her sultry looks, I suppose, but her earnest, honest songs and genial disposition (at least when I’ve met her) might disqualify her from that epithetical category.
The cover for the 8:30 show in the back room of the club at 320 College St. is likely fairly minimal, but no doubt you’ll get more than your money’s worth no matter what it is.
