I don’t know soundman Bernie Sandor but, judging by the lineup for a show at Orbit Room tonight to help him recover from a heart attack, a lot of very talented musicians appreciate his talents behind the board.

Apparently following the recent heart episode he also had to have a quadruple bypass operation and won’t be able to work for a couple of months while he gets back in the swing, leaving him in dire straits financially.

All-star drummer Paul DeLong organized tonight’s 8 p.m. “Berniepalooza” show and has called upon high-level talents like the members of Steely Dan tribute Pretzel Logic, Tower of Power salute group Oakland Stroke and performers like singers Virgil Scott and Kimberley Wetmore, to name a few of those who’ve confirmed they’ll be on hand.

Cover is $20 and if you can’t make it out to the club on the second floor at 580 College St. at Clinton tonight, you can also donate by going to his pal Topher Stott’s website, where a page to make a $20 online donation has been set up.
