It’s always a lot like a house party when contemporary Pop Rock songwriter and recording artist Julian “JT” Taylor performs at the Dora Keogh pub at 141 Danforth Ave. near Broadview. The authentic Irish-style room (it even has those annoyingly low and tiny but authentic stools that only a leprechaun or kid could be comfortable on) is JT’s home away from home.
In addition to formerly working there as a server while repositioning his music career a few years ago, he now hosts the weekly Mon. open stage (though it’s not on this coming Mar. 18), books acts in and performs weekend shows.
This weekend he has two gis there, in fact, both with his eponymous band delivering some of his catchy and well crafted originals along with covers of contemporary and maybe a few classic Pop Rock hits. The first show is tonight at 10, then Sunday the group returns 5:30 -9 as part of a marathon St. Paddy’s Day party that also includes an acoustic duo 2-5 and an Irish-style band from 9:30 till close.
