The band known as Junction City All-Stars is one of those combos that has a floating membership which revolves a round a core member or two.
But one thing you can always count on is that whichever lineup key man and bassist Dave “The Mayor Of The Junction” McManus chooses to assemble, it will always consist of first-rate players who will get the job done and then some.
Dave, with various guest performers, uses the JCA-S name when he hosts the weekly 3:30 Sun. afternoon jam at The Hole In The Wall in the Junction area and also when he puts together a team like the one that’s appearing tonight at nearby Axis Gallery & Grill at 3048 Dundas St. W.
The group’s previous shows at Axis have been consistent enough that the band now has the second Sat. of each month inked into the club’s calendar.
Tonight’s show features fellow JCA-S founding member Les Hoffman on guitar, Jon McCann on the kit and popular harp wiz Ken Yoshioka, who also chips in on vocals. 9:30 start, no cover.
