Breast cancer claims Gypsy Soul/Thinktank Fish musician Cathy Craig

Gypsy Soul co-founder and trumpeter Cathy Craig last week succumbed to Stage 4 breast cancer according to an online obituary published by The Toronto Star.

The Toronto native was 38 at the time of her death on September 12, the report says.

She had been working as a registered nurse at Toronto’s St. Michael’s Hospital’s Emergency Department since graduating from nursing school eight years ago, the report says. She leaves twin daughters, a former spouse, a fiancée and a legion of devastated fans and musical friends.

Musical band mates recalled her as a passionate and committed musician. Former Thinktank Fish bandmate Tom Barlow described her as “a great spirit and inspiring performer.”
