Three players of diverse musical pedigrees, but who all love to sing Pop Rock harmonies and who each have more than a little talent for vocalizing, comprise the terrific trio knows as The 3 Dads.
The trio of titans includes veteran singer and percussionist Virgil Scott, multi-instrumentalist and soulful vocalist Glyn Stephens and bassist (also known to hoist a six-string) and gifted crooner Jay Speziale. Each is active as part of other bands and much-sought after in their own right. And together they weave a magical sonic spell that has made them a favourite at Timothy’s Pub, at 344 Brown’s Line in south Etobicoke.
So far as I know, the only place the trio has ever performed —unless it was for a party or benefit— has been at Timothy’s, where they’ve been a roster staple one Wednesday of each month for the past eight years now. Tonight, Wed. May 15, in fact, they celebrate that milestone with an 8-12 party that should be a corker.
