\ TO CENTRAL \
I’ve written previously about how my involvement in the live music scene basically began in London Ontario in 1976/76 listening to Bluegrass music as performed by the sensational Dixie Flyers. As I recounted nine years ago on April 30 in a cover story for Toronto Moon while it was a hard copy publication. it’s high-energy toe-tapping, knee-slapping music that you just can’t be indifferent to. You either love it or you hate it and I’m happy to say I loved it then and still do nearly 45 years later!
Which makes it surprising that in the past ten years that the four-piece Houndstooth combo has been performing that straw-munching style of music weekly at Tranzac Club, I’ve yet to get out to hear them!
Tonight would be a good one for that to change as the group celebrates its tenth anniversary with a special show in the Main Hall of the venue at 292 Brunswick Ave. that will also feature lots of special guests who’ve sat in with the group during the past decade.
There’s no cover for the 7:30 p.m. celebration, but the group says it would appreciate donations and hopes folks might decide to chip in $10 to keep them in hay and strings.
