A musical force of nature, “Hurricane” Mike Thompson isn’t seen much on TO stages these days, as he lives north of the city in the sticks and has also been hobbled by medical issues the past couple of years. He’s not in TO this afternoon either but it’s a fine day for a drive and if you make your way north to Barrie you can see him as the guest feature act at the “house concert open stage” for Roots players hosted by Doc Higgins in his home from 1 - 5 each Sunday. Although the promoters for the club he’s playing at most Sun. evenings these days don’t seem to know him very well, since they keep spelling his name way wrong on their website, I know both how to spell Scott Baragar’s name and the kind of music he does, which is an eclectic mix of Pop covers along with his own very soulful ballads and Pop numbers.
