Like many musicians, singer and congas player Virgil Scott often feels a little cheated by New Year’s Eve since, rather than being able to kick back and celebrate, he’s usually on a stage somewhere in charge of making sure others have fun.

So five years ago he decided to put on a little show in January, when things usually quiet down, for his band mates and many musical friends on an “off-night” and at which those who work New Year’s Eve could cut loose and party themselves. Thus was born the “Happy New Year To Musicians” show and all-star jam.

Tonight the sixth installment goes at Hollywood On The Queensway, 1184 The Queensway in Etobicoke, from 8 p.m. till midnight featuring Virgil, the other two members of his The Three Dads group and many more all playing and partying like it’s 2012! Cover’s just $5 and all are welcome.
