Some of us remember when the club Stratengers, at 1130 Queen St. E., was a hopping hotbed of live music, with a wide range of musical attractions that included lots of hard Rock, Metal, Punk and just plain out-there acts, in good part thanks to the dogged efforts of one James “Ratch” Ratch.
Ratch was a buddy of Jeff Plewman, aka Nash The Slash, who, as we told you earlier, passed away in early May. The two knew each other through the club, where Nash was a weekly regular patron. In fact, Stratengers still maintains a “Nash Museum” of his memorabilia on its second floor. So it’s the perfect location for a wake for the late Slash, of course -it’s a natch!
According to the report below just in from thelastpogo.net, a date has been set for just such an occasion in just that place: Saturday, June 21 starting at 5 p.m.. We’ll try to keep you updated as to who will be doing what at the event as we get closer to it.
